Produced by the Swiss PRIMA Lab, the COVID-19 test is available in the Biedronka shop chain from today. According to the information provided, the accuracy of the Primacovid test is over 98%.
What will we check with Primacovid?
The Primacovid test offered by Biedronka is a so-called serological test. This means that it allows to detect whether the person tested has developed IgG and IgM antibodies against the coronavirus causing COVID-19. Primacovid was developed by the Swiss company PRIMA Lab, which is certified ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016, and the test itself is a certified medical device (CE certificate). As stated, its accuracy is 98.3%.
The Biedronka chain is the first in Poland to introduce a certified test to detect SARS-CoV-2 antibodies from today, following in the footsteps of shops in neighbouring Germany, namely Lidl and Aldi, which decided to make a similar move over a week ago (6th March). Media reported at the time that on the first day on the shops’ websites, the tests sold out there in just a few minutes.
The tests Primacovid in Biedronka cost PLN 49.99 each and can be done by yourself at home. A small sample of blood is used for the test, and the result can be read after about 10 minutes. What is important, Biedronka has introduced a limit of purchasing three tests during one shopping.
