Fitness trainer Ewa Chodakowska is the greatest authority on health issues for Poles using the internet. She received as many indications as doctors and overtook another trainer, Anna Lewandowska, according to the HealthWave study.
Fitness trainer is as credible as a doctor?
Ewa Chodakowska was ranked on top of the HealthWave survey. She received 7% of spontaneous indications, the same as doctors. Just behind the podium was also another fitness trainer, former Polish karate representative and wife of the famous footballer, Anna Lewandowska. She obtained 4% of indications. A larger percentage of respondents (6%) trust only themselves and their intuition.
Only in further places as health authorities did the respondents indicate their mother, dietitian, wife and… Magda Gessler (restaurateur, culinary program presenter.
The power of social media
In PMR’s opinion, such a high percentage of indications for Chodakowska and Lewandowska results to a large extent from the selection of the research sample. The survey was conducted among internet users, where both trainers are very active. Ewa Chodakowska has over 2 million followers on Facebook and 1.6 million fans on Instagram. Anna Lewandowska can boast 1.4 million fans on Facebook and 2.3 million on Instagram. Both women, apart from training activities, sell a number of products bearing their names, including healthy food, cosmetics and manuals.
Despite this, the study indicates a certain phenomenon and the strength of social media, where people without a medical background can build a reputation comparable to that of doctors.
Explanation: The survey was conducted in May and June 2019 on a sample of 2,002 Poles aged 15+ – Internet users, using the CAWI method.
