Giant EU subsidy for SU in Krakow

As much as 255 million PLN of subsidy from the Regional Operational Programme (ROP) of the Małopolska Region for the years 2014-2020 received the University Hospital in Kraków.  The record-breaking funding is guaranteed by the agreement signed on Thursday between the Marshal of the Voivodeship and the hospital management.  The total amount of the contract is 300 million PLN.

The funds will be allocated for equipping the new headquarters of the hospital in Prokocim. Approximately 1.5 thousand devices will be purchased for the needs of the hospital. These will include, among others, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, ultrasound, neurosurgical operating microscope, as well as colonoscopy, gastroscopy and cytogenetic research equipment.

The new hospital will have 925 beds in 31 wards. The facility will also include 24 operating rooms and a helicopter landing area. The acceptance of the buildings is scheduled for June 2019. At the turn of 2019 and 2020, the facility will receive the first patients.

The total value of the investment amounts to PLN 1.2 billion, of which PLN 800 million comes from the state budget.
