Military Institute of Medicine (WIM) is another facility in Poland that will operate using da Vinci medical robot. This is the eleventh such device delivered by Synektik company in Poland.
New agreement of the Synektik Group
On Friday, 10 July, the Synektik Group has concluded an agreement for delivery of da Vinci robotics system to the Military Institute of Medicine (WIM) in Warsaw. The agreement worth PLN 16.1m provides that the company will equip WIM with the most modern model of da Vinci Xi robot. Let us recall that since July 2018 Synektik has been the exclusive distributor of these systems in Poland.
WIM plans to use the system for treatments carried out among military patients and for operations on civilians in accordance with agreements with the National Health Fund (NFZ). The da Vinci robot at the Institute will be launched in September this year.
Treatment with da Vinci robots
WIM is the first military facility in Poland to start using da Vinci’s solution. At the same time, it is worth noting that surgical robots are widely used by military hospitals around the world. Major General Professor Grzegorz Gielerak, the Director of WIM, has said that the Military Institute of Medicine has been successfully implementing modern treatment methods for years, focusing on advanced medical technologies.
Currently, treatments using da Vinci robots are performed in centres located in eight Polish cities: Bialystok, Krakow, Poznan, Siedlce, Szczecin, Warsaw, Wieliszew and Wroclaw.
