Ten post jest także dostępny w języku: polski

The investments in the CT scanner installed in the container flourished with the development of the coronavirus epidemic. This is because CT has proved to be an effective method of diagnosing patients with COVID-19. The CT container enables full diagnostics of patients while maintaining epidemiological safety. Recently, such GE Healthcare equipment has been delivered to the hospital in Gorzow.

Investment in CT container in Gorzow Wielkopolski

On 20 July 2020, GE Healthcare in cooperation with JMP Medical delivered a modern medical container to the Multispecialist Regional Hospital in Gorzow Wielkopolski, where a 128-layer CT scanner was installed.

The CT scanner installed in the external container was equipped with Lung VCAR and Thoracic VCAR software, helping to diagnose patients with suspected coronaviruses. The new equipment was also equipped with technologies to manage radiation dose and improve detection of low-contrast lesions. This means that the Revolution EVO CT scanner will prove itself in case of necessity to perform the examination several times. Production of the equipment and construction of the container took place in parallel. Then, after the module was delivered to its destination, the CT was installed and calibrated in the container. The room was also equipped with mechanical ventilation and air conditioning and a sanitary facility with toilets.

A new trend on the imaging diagnostics market?

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, similar devices have been delivered to several hospitals in Poland. For example, a CT installed in a container was delivered in May 2020 to the University Hospital in Zielona Gora. The cost of the whole investment is PLN 2.9m. The purchase was made by the Self-Government of the Voivodeship as part of the EU project “Lubuskie versus Virus”.

In May 2020, a similar CT was also installed at the Independent Public Regional Hospital at Arkonska Street in Szczecin. The device cost PLN 3.8m. The purchase was carried out as part of a project co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund and the state budget under the Regional Operational Programme of the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship 2014-2020. Also in May 2020, a CT container worth almost PLN 3m was donated to the Multispecialist Regional Hospital in Gorzow Wielkopolski in Walczaka Street by the Zabka chain of shops. What is more, earlier in April 2020. Pomeranian Centre for Infectious Diseases and Tuberculosis in Gdansk received a new CT in a container.

Current trends and forecasts for the development of the laboratory and imaging diagnostics market will be discussed with PMR experts at the PMR Private Healthcare Forum 2021 on 10 September.
