Medicover is going for more

In the first half of 2019, we have reported that Medicover, one of the largest private medical companies in Poland, wants to create a network of fitness clubs. Now the company is making another acquisition in this regard and the Holmes Place fitness club network is joining the group’s portfolio.

Medicover acquired 100% of Holmes Place Poland at the beginning of March. This is another Medicover acquisition in the fitness industry. At the end of 2020, we reported on the acquisition of the Fitness World club network in Poland. Earlier in 2018. Medicover acquired OK System, an operator of sports packages for employees (the segment of this business now functions as Medicover Sport). The company stated that its ambition is to further develop and strengthen its position in the sports world.

Holmes Place is an international network of fitness clubs, which is present in 8 countries. In total it runs 95 clubs. In Poland there are four facilities. Currently there are three clubs in Warsaw: Holmes Place Premium Hotel Hilton, Holmes Place Premium Hotel Marriott and Holmes Place Fitness C.H. Skorosze. One club operates in Wroclaw in the well known futuristic complex OVO. Currently, however, due to the prevailing restrictions in our country they remain closed.
