Yesterday the USP Group, which includes USP Zdrowie – one of the largest Polish manufacturers of OTC products, announced the purchase of a majority stake in Vanatari International. Thus, the portfolio of dietary supplements of USP Group will be enriched with vegan dietary supplements.

New company within the USP Group

As part of the transaction, USP Group, to which USP Zdrowie belongs, will become the majority shareholder of Vanatari International. The company was founded in 2014 and owns the Vegavero brand. The company offers a total of 140 vegan products, which are available for online sale in several European markets.

As the company has stated on its website, this acquisition is: “the next step of the USP Group in strengthening its position in the area of health and building advanced competence in the digital field”. After the acquisition, Vanatari International is to operate independently within the USP Group in the New Businesses segment.

Pandemic accelerates the sale of dietary supplements via the Internet

Nearly 92% of the management representatives of companies dealing with the sale of dietary supplements in Poland in a PMR survey conducted between April and June 2020 already believed that in 2020 the dynamics of sales of dietary supplements via the Internet would be higher than their sales in brick-and-mortar pharmacies. Currently the forecasts for sales in this channel are even more optimistic. It is worth noting that the dynamics forecasted by us is much higher than the dynamics of the traditional pharmacy market.

This is due to the fact that in times of pandemic, sales of many products moved to the Internet. The popularity of Internet sales will also remain in the following years, although the generated dynamics will not be as high as in the record year 2020.
