The pandemic is intensifying and the number of infections is increasing at an alarming rate. Today, we have another record of infections in Poland. Almost 19,000 COVID-19 cases have been recorded! All the actions taken in the fight against the pandemic appear to be of great importance. An interesting initiative is the educational campaign of the Adamed Foundation. Will it be possible to stop the development of the pandemic? Are we threatened with another lockdown?

Adamed Foundation: “by taking care of yourself, you protect others too”

On Saturday, 24 October, the Adamed Foundation launched an educational campaign to ‘raise awareness of the COVID-19 coronavirus threat and how to protect yourself from infection’. For the purposes of the campaign, films and educational materials were prepared to be promoted in various media, including television, radio, internet portals and social media, Adamed informed on his website.

– We believe that building awareness is able to combat coronavirus, which is why it is so important to use reliable and substantial sources of information – Adamed said in his announcement.

COVID-19 is particularly dangerous for the elderly and those burdened with coexisting diseases with severely impaired immunity. Appropriate behaviour and compliance with the rules seems to be the most effective way of protecting oneself and one’s loved ones. It should be remembered, however, that the disease can affect any person, and there is already talk of complications, even with the asymptomatic passage of COVID-19.

On the way to the next lockdown?

Today, another record has been set. The Ministry of Health has reported 18,820 further infections. What is more, as far as the number of deaths is concerned, there were as many as 236, 29 of which did not have coexisting diseases. At present, the number of beds for COVID-19 patients is 21,506, of which nearly 65% are occupied. However, 513 ventilators are available, which is less than 31% of the currently available resources for COVID-19 patients.

On Tuesday, information about a possible next lockdown across Poland appeared in various media. Everything depends on the number of COVID-19 infections, but the statistics are not optimistic. Decisions are to be made in the nearest future, but concrete findings can be expected on Friday.
