Medicover will take over the Neomedic Group

Medicover, one of the largest private medical companies in Poland, will be taken over by Neomedic Group. The seller is Innova Capital. The value of the transaction, which has yet to be approved by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, is EUR 70.5 million, i.e. over PLN 300 million. Medicover expects the acquisition to be completed in Q2 2019.

The Neomedic Group operates a network of branches in the south of Poland. It has two hospitals in Kraków: the Ujastek obstetrics and gynecology hospital (with a clinic) and the Topmed one-day surgical hospital. In Nowy Sącz, Neomedic runs the Medikor obstetrics and gynaecology hospital (also with a clinic). Last year, 7.6 thousand children were born in the Group’s hospitals.

The Neomedic units have a total of approximately 250 beds, of which 180 at the Ujastek Hospital. The Group’s estimated revenue for 2018 is approximately PLN 120 million.

Medicover currently operates three hospitals in Poland. The largest of them is the Medicover Hospital in Warsaw’s Wilanów district. At the same time, it is one of the largest private hospitals in Poland in terms of the number of beds. In addition, the company is the owner of the Damian Hospital, also in the capital city. In Poznań, there is an orthopaedic hospital Rehasport Clinic. According to PMR data, there are about 230 beds in total.
