Andrzej Jacyna is no longer the President of the National Health Fund (NFZ). On Wednesday he resigned, which on Thursday was positively assessed by the board of NFZ.

Andrzej Jacyna has been the president of the National Health Fund since June 2018. Previously, for two years he was acting president. He was also connected with the NFZ earlier. From May 2005 to March 2008, he worked as the director of the Mazovian branch of the fund. In 1999-2001, he was the director of the Branch Sickness Insurance Fund for Uniformed Services. He also served as director of the Grochowski Hospital in Warsaw and deputy director for treatment of the Independent Public Clinical Hospital of Prof. Orłowski.

According to Lukasz Szumowski, Minister of Health, the resignation of Jacyna has nothing to do with the recent events, including the problem with the availability of medicines. The former President of the National Health Fund has been recommended to Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki as an advisor.
On 18 July, the Minister of Health entrusted Adam Niedzielski, Deputy President of NFZ, with the function of President of the Fund.
