One of the world’s most exclusive airlines, Qatar Airways, has announced that it has funded 100,000 free airline tickets for medical personnel. This is to be a form of thanks for fighting on the front line against the coronavirus.
As part of Qatar Airways’ offer, a medical professional can obtain tickets in economy class for himself and an accompanying person (aged 12 years and over) for any connection from Qatar’s network of carriers. Doctors, medical practitioners, nurses, paramedics, laboratory technicians, clinical researchers and pharmacists are entitled to free tickets. What is important is that when checking in at the airport you will need to show the original medical card. If a medical officer cannot fly, the accompanying person will not be able to fly alone.
According to the terms and conditions, Qatar Airways will refund the ticket price and surcharges, but the passenger will pay the airport fees. The promotion is valid from 12th to 18th May or until the ticket pool is exhausted. The journey is to take place between 26 May and 10 December. However, the tickets are fully flexible and allow an unlimited number of destination or date changes allowed without any fees.
