Pratia, a member of the Neuca Group, acquired 100% of shares in Examen, a company specialising in oncology and haematology research. The acquisition is a consequence of the implementation of the Neuca Group’s strategy in the area of clinical oncology research with a special focus on haematooncology.

Another takeover

The connection to Examen is another investment made by Neuca. Previously, the company joined Malopolskie Centrum Medyczne (currently part of Pratia) and CRO ClinScience (merger of Biosciecne and ClinMed Pharma). They are responsible for the development of the clinical research segment in the Group.

The Examen Centre in Skorzewo near Poznan will be the fourth location where Neuca, through Pratia, will be able to conduct clinical trials for pharmaceutical companies in the area of oncology. Other locations include the Pratia Krakow hematoooncology clinical research centre, the Multi-Specialist Hospital in Ostrołeka and the newly established oncology centre in Katowice.

As stipulated in the agreement, the two founders of Examen remain in the company. They will continue to work together to further develop the company and enable even more patients to access modern therapies in clinical trials.

The clinical trials market is developing dynamically

According to the opinion of Pratio Tomasz Dabrowski, the clinical research market in Poland is developing very dynamically. The awareness of doctors and patients about clinical trials and their benefits is increasing year by year. As a result of the merger of both companies, the possibility of expanding the portfolio of therapeutic areas and clinical research projects will be increased, added Dabrowski.

The head of the clinical research centre Examen, Michal Kwiatek, informed that Examen and Pratia have joined forces to develop clinical research in Poland. The cooperation opens up the possibility for the company to use innovative technological solutions and access to the electronic clinical research system created by Pratia.

Examen is one of the largest clinical research centres in western Poland. It offers patients modern diagnostics and treatment, and sponsors and CRO companies the highest quality projects.
